Apprentice Program

Become a Skyline Apprentice and get "hands on" theatre training

The Skyline Theatre Company Apprentice Program gives students the opportunity to work directly with industry professionals in a variety of fields.

Apprentices will have the opportunity to:
•Assist directors, designers, choreographers, and other members of the creative team during the rehearsal process and during productions.
•Experience a professional rehearsal and production process from auditions to closing night.
•Learn about how a professional theatre company is run

Skyline's season runs January through December each year; we do not use apprentices in the summer. Apprentices have the option to work on just one production or be an apprentice for a whole season.

If you are interested in becoming an apprentice at Skyline, please fill out the form below (including your areas of interest AND the dates and/or production for which you might be available), and we will contact you regarding an interview.

Fill out this form if you would like to be involved in Skyline's Apprentice Program. We will contact you with further information.

Apprentice Julia Huston does scenic work on Skyline's 2018 production of Barnum
Skyline’s 2018-2019 season Apprentice was Julia Huston who was a senior at Bergen County Academies in the Academy for Visual and Performing Arts with a Theatre Concentration. Julia worked with Skyline Theatre Company and her mentor, Artistic Director Sam Scalamoni, each Wednesday to learn about the professional theatre industry. Her time with Skyline gave her the opportunity to participate in a hands-on way with industry professionals. Julia did everything from assisting Stage Managers and Set Designers during productions to organizing data and supplies and even had the opportunity to sit in on professional auditions in NYC.
